How to easily set your digital media budget & marketing.

A pending Polygon transaction means your transaction has been broadcast to the Polygon PoS network and is sitting in the mempool (transaction pool) waiting to be picked up by a validator and included in a block. Because Polygon produces a new block every 2 seconds and has extremely high throughput (over 100 transactions per second), most transactions clear from pending status within a few seconds.

However, if you set a very low gas price below the current network minimum, validators may not prioritize your transaction. During periods of network congestion, the median gas price rises and transactions with below-average gas prices may remain pending longer. PolygonScan's Gas Tracker shows the current recommended gas price in real time.

"If you have just submitted a transaction, please wait for at least 30 seconds before refreshing. It could still be in the TX Pool of a different node, waiting to be broadcast."

  • Most Polygon transactions clear in 2–10 seconds under normal conditions
  • Low gas price is the most common reason for stuck pending transactions
  • You can speed up a stuck transaction by resending with the same nonce and higher gas
  • You can cancel a pending transaction by sending 0 POL to yourself with the same nonce

To speed up a stuck pending transaction on Polygon, send a new transaction with the exact same nonce as the pending one, but with a higher gas price. Your wallet's "speed up" feature does this automatically in most cases. The new transaction with higher gas will be processed first, and the original pending transaction will be replaced.

To cancel a pending transaction, send a 0 POL transaction to your own address using the same nonce as the stuck transaction, but with a gas price higher than the pending one. Once the cancellation transaction confirms, the original pending transaction will be dropped from the mempool.
