Your reliable resource for Polygon transaction hash lookup and verification.

How to easily set your digital media budget & marketing.

One of the biggest advantages of the Polygon PoS network is its ultra-low gas fees. While Ethereum transactions can cost several dollars in gas, Polygon transactions typically cost a fraction of a cent. When you look up a Polygon transaction hash, you will see detailed gas information that tells you exactly how much was paid.

Every transaction hash on Polygon shows three key gas metrics: Gas Price (in Gwei), Gas Limit (the maximum gas authorized), and Gas Used (the actual gas consumed). The total fee is calculated as: Gas Used × Gas Price.

"You can see the price of gas, how much gas was used, and the cost of the transaction on PolygonScan. This will make your future transfers go more smoothly."

— Transfi Polygon Guide

  • Gas Price: Typically 30–200 Gwei on Polygon PoS (much lower than Ethereum)
  • Gas Limit: Set by the sender — simple transfers use ~21,000 gas
  • Gas Used: The amount of gas actually consumed during execution
  • Transaction Fee: Gas Used × Gas Price (usually under $0.01)

PolygonScan's Gas Tracker shows the current average gas price on the network, allowing you to set optimal gas prices before sending a transaction. During periods of high network activity, the median gas price can rise, but it rarely exceeds a few cents for standard transfers.

For smart contract interactions, gas usage is higher than simple POL transfers because the EVM must execute the contract's bytecode. Complex DeFi operations, NFT mints, or multi-step contract calls may use 100,000 to 500,000 gas units, but even at these levels, total fees on Polygon remain minimal compared to Ethereum.
